Empathy Gift Co.
The Empathy Gift Co is a Melbourne based online store specialising in gift boxes for special occasions. Their target audience was women aged 35-60 years old living in Australia.
The Empathy Gift Co required a website redesign and the creation of an eCommerce store that also met their goals:

I started the project off with target audience research. In my approach to website design, I like to know what motivates and is important to the demographic.
After I concluded this research, I moved on to researching competitors. Competitor research allows me to leverage off their success and to create a design that will stand out from the crowd.
To meet the primary goal of generating sales, I created the main banner that used the tagline along with an invoking call-to-action “start exploring”. The call-to-action encourages the visitor to take action and visit another page, which in this case, consisted of a selection of pre-made gift boxes. The banner, along with shop filters such as circumstance and occasion helped make the product selection process as easy as possible for the visitor.
To satisfy the secondary goal of an easy to use website, the updated menu navigation highlights the shop navigation while still displaying the other informational pages allowing the visitor to make their way around the site easily.
Creating a way for visitors to quickly get in touch was important to The Empathy Gift Co, so I integrated a chat function at the bottom right of the page, as well as featuring the contact number at the top right. These options create ways for visitors to get help if needed.
