The Client
Situated near a beautiful, unique lake in rural Victoria, Skymirror consists of a gallery and hotel to service the influx of tourists that come to view the lake each year. Being quite a drive from major towns and cities, and with the existing accommodation been sparse, Skymirror wanted to encourage people to visit the lake, and then have somewhere to stay and possibly take home a photo from the gallery to keep as a memento of their trip. The gallery houses local photographers works of the lake, which has a unique, mirror-like effect creating stunning photos.
Their primary goal was to generate hotel bookings, followed by promoting the gallery, as well as the lake itself. To do this, they required a complete website design and an eCommerce store.

The Solution
The core reason for hotel guests and visitors is dependent on the lake’s natural beauty. So, to encourage visitors I included a stunning main banner image that gives the viewer an instant visual representation as to why they should travel to see this lake, and then to avail of Skymirror’s services.
The first button “Book Guest House” is in line with their primary goal, directing visitors to stay.
The second button “Explore Gallery” is in line with their second goal as it compels visitors to view the gallery.
The section directly beneath the main banner explains more about the lake and the owner, completing Skymirror’s three goals. If the visitor wants to know more, there is a “Learn More” button which will bring them to a section on the “about us” page that provides more information.
